Synopsis
The Story of Anant Rajan
Anant Rajan, Head of Data & Analytics at Zenith Travels, has spent his adult life executing strategies. He is methodical, cynical, and hollowed out. A recurring nightmare — standing on a rope bridge while a robed figure screams “You are standing on the wrong bridge!” — is the only thing that breaks through his Teflon Layer of dissociation.
When his boss sends him on an assignment to Arunachal Pradesh, Anant takes it as an escape. But a routine site visit goes wrong when he and his driver Dorjee stumble upon an illegal timber operation. A chase through the reserve forest ends in a crash that leaves Dorjee injured and Anant stranded, presumed dead.
Rescued by Bhairav — an ex-Naxalite living in self-imposed exile — Anant is offered a deal: ten days of unconditional obedience in exchange for learning to walk the “right bridge.” What follows is a brutal re-education through the five elements that strips away everything the boardroom built.

The Journey in Four Movements
The Gray City
“I was standing on a rope bridge that felt older than memory. The ropes were frayed, the planks bent in strange bows, every part of it looking personally insulted that I’d dared to step on it… And his voice boomed through the storm: ‘ANANT! YOU ARE STANDING ON THE WRONG BRIDGE!’”
Moving Without Momentum
“It wasn’t a river. It was an ocean that happened to be moving in one direction. The opposite shore was so far away it looked like a separate country… This river didn’t fight. Didn’t flow so much as exist — patient, horizontal, indifferent to the city that had built itself along its banks.”
The Awakening
“The rear window exploded… Gunshot. The word appeared in my brain like a caption. Clinical. Detached. Something I’d filed away under ‘Things That Happen to Other People.’ Not things that happened to corporate analysts driving to the Tourism Board.”
The Return
“I’ve been getting lost my whole life. Wrong bridge. Wrong path. Wrong everything. And it took actually getting lost — literally lost in a jungle with no phone, no ID, no idea if I’d survive — to finally find something real.”

"The author succeeds in creating an authentic tension between ambition and silence. Anant's reconstruction in the forest is beautiful and rings with deep truth."
