22 days from corporate Delhi to the jungles of Arunachal Pradesh. The timeline below traces Anant’s journey through its four parts.

Part I: The Gray City

Corporate Delhi · Before Day 0

Part I takes place over an unspecified period in Delhi/NCR, establishing Anant’s corporate life at Zenith Travels, the recurring Wrong Bridge nightmare, his relationships with Sid, Meera (including the Gangtok offsite), and Vikram. It culminates when Vikram offers the North East Project — the assignment to Arunachal Pradesh that Anant accepts as a “financed relocation.”

Part II: Moving Without Momentum

Delhi → Guwahati → Itanagar · Days 0–6

Day 0 Monday

Departure from Delhi. Arrival in Guwahati. Evening train to Itanagar is cancelled — a bandh has shut down rail services for 48 hours.

Day 1 Tuesday

Day 1 in Guwahati. Forced pause. Ignoring Vikram’s emails. First encounter with the city.

Day 2 Wednesday

Day 2 in Guwahati. Walk to the Brahmaputra. The river that resists being measured. Meera’s text: “Universe has plans. Just breathe.”

Day 3 Thursday

Bandh extended. Day 3 in Guwahati. The “leash” to Delhi is stretching.

Day 4 Friday

Departure from Guwahati. Night train at 11:45 PM.

Day 5 Saturday

Arrival in Itanagar. Check into Mrs. Devi’s homestay in Doimukh. Mountain views. Bucket-system hot water. “The cage door is opening.”

Day 6 Sunday

Rest day at the homestay. Dreamless sleep. Recovery from the journey’s exhaustion.

Part III: The Awakening

The Crash & The Jungle · Days 7–20

Day 7 Monday — THE CRASH

Site visit with Dorjee. Detour through reserve forest. Encounter with timber mafia. Chase, gunfire, crash into ravine. Dorjee pinned with shattered leg. Anant escapes on foot. Last message to Meera. Found by Bhairav at night.

Day 8 Tuesday

Wakes up in Bhairav’s sanctuary. Fever strikes late at night.

Days 9–10 Wed–Thu

Fever. Recovery. The body processing the trauma.

Days 11–12 Fri–Sat

Earth (Sthira) — Meditation begins. Sitting still until you stop fighting the ground.

Days 13–14 Sun–Mon

Water (Jal) — Flow. Moving with the current. Meera applies for leave in Delhi (Day 14).

Days 15–16 Tue–Wed

Fire (Agni) — Burning away the ego. Meera arrives at Itanagar (Day 15). Her search begins.

Days 17–18 Thu–Fri

Air (Vayu) — Breath as the bridge. Meera’s team finds the crashed Scorpio in the ravine (Day 18).

Days 19–20 Sat–Sun

Space (Akasha) — Witness consciousness. SP approves 20-officer search operation (Day 19). Timber mafia forced to lie low.

Part IV: The Return

Itanagar · Days 21–22

Day 21 Monday — THE RETURN

Anant emerges from the jungle at Doimukh. Detained at police checkpoint. Calls Meera. Reunited at Mrs. Devi’s homestay. Simple meal. Cheap Samsung phone from Doimukh market.

Day 22 Tuesday — THE BRIDGE

Dinner at Ziro Kitchen. Meera details her search operation. Anant tells her what he found. She reveals her Gurkha heritage. They toast “To bridges.” The Wrong Bridge dream is gone. A new dream: a solid bridge. Meera on the other side. He walks. It holds. “I don’t need to know where I’m going. I just need to keep walking.”
